Scope
A data protection complaint is an expression of dissatisfaction about how we have handled your personal data or any of your data protection rights, whether this dissatisfaction is justified or not.
How to make a complaint
From June 2026, data subjects must initially raise their complaint with Study Smiles Ltd's Data Controller before any contact is made with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
You may raise a Data Protection Complaint using our online form, by email or by post. Please let us know if you need an alternative format or reasonable adjustments.

What happens once I have raised a complaint?

When we receive a complaint we will acknowledge receipt within a maximum of 30 days.

We will take appropriate steps without undue delay, including any necessary enquiries and providing you with appropriate updates.

We will communicate the outcomes to you without undue delay.
Escalation to the ICO
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your complaint, you can contact the ICO for advice or to raise concerns.
We will include information about the possible next steps and the ICO in our outcome communication to you but further information can also be found on the ICO's website.
